BloggerForum Shut Down Due To Spam.....

It seemed to me like most all Blogs, whether you agree or not, are affiliated with "spam" or excess advertising that sometimes does not come wanted. After visiting a blogger forums website today to check up on what is going on in the world of blogs, I was confronted with the following message:
-----------------------------

Posting suspended

Posting has been suspended because of the amount of spam.

Folks, the real problems started when we passed 78% as the visitors here from India.

To hell with being politically correct at this point. Virtually all of our spam comes from India and China. There was never a problem before we hit a tipping point and most visitors started coming here for ways to make money.

There are many members from India who are productive and we value their contributions. However, that is just the way it is.

There is really no way to fight spammers who want to take the time to join, confirm their email address, manually enter the captcha symbols, and then manually post spam with 2 minute delays between posts. We put a higher value on human time then they do.

We will be back when and if a cure for this problem is found.

This is pretty ground breaking because it confronts an issue we all deal with on a daily basis. SPAM!!

Spam is extremely difficult to avoid, I get over 100 spam messages in my main e-mail account per day. Even more interesting is the fact that they shut down the website due to spam coming from a specified location. They tracked the spam coming from India and China! They claim they won't be coming back until a solution is found.

Could this become a new issue? Will websites be able to/or could they block users in certain locations from posting feedback?
